Where lucky numbers come from
Most lucky number systems start from the same place as the rest of numerology: your birth date and name, reduced to a small set of digits. What changes is the association layer on top, where a number is linked to a colour, a stone, a day of the week or a direction.
Those associations come from long-standing tradition rather than measurement, and they differ between cultures. We say which tradition a tool is following instead of presenting one version as the only one.
House numbers and everyday objects
House number readings are the most practical of this group, because the number is fixed and you live with it. The reading describes the atmosphere a home tends to have and how to work with it, which is more useful than being told a door number is unlucky.
Vehicle, phone and address readings work the same way and are best treated as character sketches.
Keeping it in proportion
None of these tools should be used to choose lottery numbers, place a bet or make a purchase you cannot afford. They are written for interest, and we would rather say that plainly than let a lucky number carry weight it was never meant to carry.
If you want something with more substance behind it, the core number calculators are the place to go next.
