A day for starting: universal day 1
Universal day 1 opens a cycle, so first moves carry more weight than usual.
1
Universal day
9
Universal month
8
Universal year
How the number is worked out
Add the digits of the year, the month and the day, then reduce the total to a single digit or a master number: 8 + 1 + 28 = 37, reduced to 1.
The energy of the day
One begins things. The whole nine day cycle takes its tone from what you set in motion now, which is why a small deliberate start today tends to outrun a large reactive push later in the week.
What the day favours
- Sending the message you have been drafting in your head
- Naming one goal for the next nine days and writing it where you can see it
- Working alone for the first hour of the day
What to watch
- Impatience dressed up as decisiveness
- Starting five things instead of one
One practice for today
Write a single sentence beginning with the words I am starting. Keep it to one line and revisit it on the ninth day.

Today's keyword is initiative. These two sessions work the same ground, and both are open to play straight away.
The sky on this date
The sun sits in Aquarius on Sun, Jan 28, with the moon waning gibbous at 94 percent lit. Cardinal fire matches a 1 day: it starts things and asks forgiveness later.

I am
A universal day 1 runs the way Aries runs, so borrow the approach even if it is not your sign.
The spread to lay out today
A 1 day rewards a decision, so the spread puts the action card in the middle.

Situation, action, outcome
What should I actually do here?
- 1. Situation The honest shape of the problem.
- 2. Action The move that changes it.
- 3. Outcome Where that move leads.

Signs
Shooting star
Falling stars were souls departing in Roman reading and wishes granted in later folklore. In plain terms it is read as a brief window that will not repeat.

A initiative day often carries into sleep. If this symbol turns up tonight, read it against the number rather than on its own.
Emotions
Dreaming of van
A doorway moment, before the step. Note where van sits in your waking week.

Read the number as a weather report, not an instruction. It describes the conditions you are working in, and you still choose the route.
